Student Paper Awards
PCAS/ACAS awards outstanding papers in popular culture and American culture presented by graduate and undergraduate students at the annual conference.
The Ray and Pat Browne Award is given to the best graduate paper in popular culture and the Roger Rollin Award is given to the best graduate paper in American culture.
Undergraduates are eligible for two awards for the best papers in popular culture and American culture.
Each award carries a monetary prize of $140, the current student conference registration fee.
Submissions
Graduate and undergraduate students must submit their completed conference papers in advance of the conference to the Executive Secretary (mary.jackson@kctcs.edu ) by September 15, 2024, and then present the paper at the conference in order to be eligible for an award.
Papers should be readable in 15-20 minutes, which translates to 8-12 double-spaced pages in print.
Please indicate your status and area of study by using the subject line “Graduate Student Paper Prize in (Popular Culture or American Culture)” or “Undergraduate Student Paper Prize in (Popular Culture or American Culture).”
Student winners will be announced at the awards evening receptions open to all PCAS/ACAS conference participants.
